New Website

So the new site is almost complete! Close enough at least to publish it. Everything works, I just need to put together my first portfolio for the new site.

At the moment the portfolios and shoots buttons in the menu don’t have any items in them but that will change quickly over the coming weeks! After launching AMW Studios with my partner Ariel a few years ago we are finally doing well enough to start putting time into other forms of photography. In the coming weeks I hope to build an editorial and architectural portfolio to help propel this business and my photography.

Video will be another add in as MWynne Productions comes together! It is a very exciting time for me and I hope that you will check back often!

X-Rite Passport

I have been using a Macbeth Color Checker Chart for quite a while now and just recently stumbled across there new Passport system. It is actually a series of Charts and Cards combined with a software system for your computer that works directly with Photoshop to produce a calibration for a batch of images. I have been very satisfied with the results of the Color Checker and would love to fiddle around with the new system. For now, check out this video from X-Rite.

The idea behind this blog is simply to share knowledge. It is hard to make it as a photographer no matter how you approach it but the least we can do is to share what we know. I am getting ready to enter my second year at the New England School of Photography and have already gained a wealth of knowledge from their program. I intend to share everything that I have learned, and will learn, on this blog over the coming years of my career.

It’s still early, but with time I hope to integrate an open critique section as well. Allowing photographers of all level to post work and get outsiders perspectives. An unbiased eye can always help and learning to see your own work objectively is critical to being successful.

As well as posting all the knowledge I pickup at NESOP, I intend to share solutions to problems that occur on my own shoots. New techniques that I test in various situations and all of the steps taken along the way to the solution.

I invite anyone and everyone to add their own experiences as they relate to any particular article and questions are always welcome. I hope that everyone who visits over the coming years will be able to find some information that is useful to their needs.
