I have a box of 100 business cards on my desk. I keep about 10 in my wallet everywhere I go and my goal for this summer was to have all of them passed out to local businesses. With summer coming to an end and NESOP starting up again in early October, I am still short of my goal by about 75 cards. Pathetic I know, I aimed low with this goal on purpose and still came up short. My excuses????

1. I started the summer working a full time day job.
2. On top of my day job I spent my free time drumming up TFP shoots for my portfolio and establishing myself as an assistant for some local photographers.

    They’re not great I know, but they are true and they are the reason that I am able to set this 2 week due date for myself after not producing all summer. All that time spent drumming up TFP shoots has allowed me to bring my website to the point that it is, not finished… never finished, but a start that lets me sleep. Also, since I spent so much time harassing local photographers, I no longer need my full time hours at my day job. Now, I work no more than 20 hours a week for someone else, I make more money, and I have an extra 20 hours a week to put into my own business. Plus, the time I used to spend building up assisting work, can now be spent on my business as well!!!

   So back to that due date… This is my to do list. That’s all. I will post all of the little goals that I set for myself that I feel will allow my business to take big strides overall. Then, if applicable, I will post an update with the results.

I need to finish handing out my box of business cards by no later than 09/20/2008 to local businesses that may need a photographer. My goal for this little marketing endeavour is to produce a minimum of 2 paying jobs.
